8 Minutes to A tight, tone core

Updated: Jun 17

Want to tighten and tone your mid-section? However, working your abs or core is more than just appearance. A tight or strong core can lead to better overall trunk function, or prevention of injuries. That’s why us trainers (at least at SoFit SoCal) are big on strengthening your core. And guess what, you can get it done in a few minutes.

A short 8-minute workout from a moderate to high intensity load is effective enough to head in that direction. As stated in this article, ensuring that the workouts are effective must include movements involving plenty of core activation. Also, changing up the surfaces we use with those movements greatly increases difficulty, leading to a greater intensity. This means challenging our proprioception (awareness of body in space and time) by using soft or uneven surfaces.
